this after reading a story about Anna Kostenko the painter being confused with Anna Kostenko the photographer. Wonderful work.
Anna Kostenko mixup, on Snopes actually. These are lovely. I've never seen facial expressions captured this well in unconventional depictions of countenances.

both Annas. The paintings are so beautiful and strong. The colors and the people, wow! "Faces of Humanity" , I can't think of a better title for these wonderful works.

the past 30 years .... and as an incessant "Snoper" ... this wonderful film is a gift to me in this New Year. I had been sent those "photopaintings" by various people over the past year or so. My response to all was simply ..." If they are genuine ... then the artist's technical skills ar

bad about the Snopes screw-up but for that I wouldn't have seen these paintings.
agree with everyone else. Her paintings are much better than the pretend photorealistic ones she was alleged to have painted. Why people are impressed with art that looks like another medium (the viral email that Snopes debunked), I will never understand. It's kitsch.
